The included USBtoCloud capability connects the physical USB storage to cloud storage such as OneDrive, Google drive, Box, etc. There is no way to accidentally lose the data. So, not the ideal device for casual sharing of content but for secure transfers and retention of sensitive data, this is perfect. This process makes the drive really secure but the other side of the coin is that the drive cannot be shared unless others also install the included software on their laptop/desktop. The process lets the use set up a password/passphrase and makes the storage accessible. To use the device, the included software on what is listed as the DVD-RW drive is used to set up the storage device.

When plugged into a laptop, the device shows up as two additional drives - a DVD-RW drive with 92Mb of used space and no free space and a second drive that is not accessible. It is slightly smaller than a disposable cigarette lighter and has a bit of hefty feel to it unlike the others that come in a plastic case and are quite light (comparatively speaking). The AES 256 encryption ensures data is safe and cannot be accessed even if the physical drive is lost. Good news is that this drive supports USB 3 and USB 2. Ease of use and compatibility with laptops and desktops with USB ports is a given. I have been using IronKey USB drives for well over 10 years for secure storage of sensitive personal data.
